Causes of Sewage Spills

Sewers are the main pipelines that carry waste water from your homes or workplace. Sewage spills do not only carry horrible smells but also carry diseases like Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Giardia, and many more that can make you extremely ill.

So what causes these sewers to spill or overflow?? Some of the reasons of sewer spills are: -

a)  Pipe blockages are one of the main reasons to overflowing sewers. These pipe blockages are caused due to fatty foods thrown down the drains.

-    These fatty foods can form a lump large enough to block the drains causing it overflow. Hence don’t throw you fatty foods down the drain, instead, have a separate waste bin for your unwanted food.

-    Another reason for blockages is due to toilets being used as a trash can. So do not dump stuff down your toilet that can cause the drains in the pipes to get blocked.

b)    Another cause of sewage spills is due to rains. The excess water from rains enters the sewer drains causing them to overflow. This however can not be prevented by us as it is a natural disaster. All you can do is call professionals to take care of the sewage.

Bio-Cleanse’s bio-hazard sewage waste disposal & property restoration services can help to ease the distress caused, by a sewage clean-up.

Importance of Safe Disposal of Sharps & Needles

In today’s society, it is common to find sharps and needles all over the place. People utilize and leave these harmful objects like needles, syringes, broken glass bottles, blades, etc. in public places like playgrounds and beaches which can be harmful to the lives of other citizens. The ones most affected are the children, as their curious minds tend to think of these harmful objects as playful toys.

These sharp items can be dangerous to the lives of the public as they can lead to the spread of many harmful infections and diseases. The main risks of getting cuts and puncture wounds from sharps and needles are blood-borne pathogens like HIV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and other harmful infections and viruses. Hence, these harmful objects should be handled with utmost care.

Since these objects can cause a lot of harm, we should prevent throwing them in public places and dispose them in a proper way. Most of the people think that they should dispose these sharps and needles themselves by throwing them in the garbage. However this still doesn’t eliminate the risk of these sharp objects causing harm to others. Throwing them in public bins can still cause a risk to people.

Sharps and needles are harmful substances that should be handled by professionals who have been trained to deal with these kinds of situations - Trained Professionals like those from Bio-Cleanse. Bio-cleanse technicians know the dangers of dealing with Sharps & needles and how to dispose them in a safe and proper manner. Hoarding Prevention Tips

Overcoming the hoarder disorder can be a real challenge, but it isn't impossible. Trying to get rid of your old habits can be hard, but everybody has to start somewhere. All it takes is one step at a time. Here are a couple of steps you can start with.

Start small - the first step to overcoming hoarding is by picking up the broom and cleaning up. You can start by cleaning for at least 15 minutes in a day, or you can start by cleaning a small portion of your room per day. As days pass try to make it a habit to clean a room at least once a day for 15 minutes. Keep increasing the time as you start getting used to the schedule.

Stop buying things you don’t need - Prevent yourself from buying stuff you won’t use a lot. Even if there’s a huge sale, try to prevent shopping for things you might just use once or twice and not bother looking at again, it will just end up in your hoarder collection. Most hoarders just shop because they got a lot of free time on their hands and don’t know how to utilize it. Hence end up buying stuff they don’t need. So before you buy something, always ask yourself, “do I need it??”

Get rid of your excess junk – Most hoarders don’t like to throw out their excess junk because they have some sort of an attachment to it and keep making excuses that they might use it in future, but haven’t used it in the past 2 years and probably won’t use it for another 5 years. Hence it is important to convince yourself that you don’t need it, you won’t use it and need to get rid of it. You can try an exercise of putting all your excess junk in a box while cleaning. Keep the box around for a month and at the end of it, get rid of the items you haven’t used.

Ask for Help – Sometimes if you need help, it is better to just ask for it. You can start by telling your family or friends about your problem. This might be embarrassing, but your friends and family can help you get out of it faster by helping you get rid of the items. Having the support of your friends and family, will help you overcome the hoarder disorder much quicker than you think.

Dealing with Trauma

Some traumatic life events can be really hard to get over. Nothing can completely erase a traumatic event from your life. Medications can help you along the way to reduce your stress, but this doesn’t mean you entirely depend on them. Given below are a couple of methods you can use to deal with trauma.

Avoid Being alone – Being alone by yourself will only make your situation worse. During your traumatic situation you might feel no one understands you and you may try to prevent yourself from talking to anyone. Avoid doing this! Instead try to be close to your friends and build stronger closer relationships. This will help you express your feelings more effectively. Go out often and spend more time with friends and family. This will help you get over and stop thinking of the traumatic event.

Open up to others – Sharing your feelings helps you feel better. If you keep your problems and feelings to yourself and not share them, you will not be able to get out of the traumatic event. Open up and talk to your friends and family for support, their support and advice can help you feel better.

Take care of your health - Try to not let the traumatic experience affect your health. Make sure you eat well, exercise and sleep on time.  Prevent consumption of alcohol, smoking and caffeine.

Nightmares aren’t there to stay – You might get nightmares and have trouble sleeping, but these aren’t permanent effects. This is just a temporary phase that will fade with time. So don’t take it too seriously and carry on with your life.

Give yourself time – You won’t recover immediately from a traumatic situation, so be patient and just give yourself some time. Spend more time with friends and family to help forget the traumatic memory. If you try to cut yourself out and be alone by yourself, it will only take longer to recover from it.

Talk to a counselor – Seek help from a counselor, counselors can help give you advice and understand your situation.

Commercial deodorizers may help for some time, but the fact is, where there's stink, there's definitely something unpleasant that needs to be cleaned up on priority. Delay in clean-up will only cause things to get worse & the smell to get stronger.

Regular cleaning helps get rid of general odors. But, what do we do in case the odors are from sources like biological material? In such cases, odor removal can be difficult or rather impossible, unless a trained specialist performs the process of odor removal.

Odor from biological materials, are some of the nastiest odors. Dry Ice Blasting

Dry ice blasting… Wondering what that is? For all those unfamiliar with the term, here is a quick description of this new astounding service.

Commonly known as CO2 blasting, dry ice blasting is a method of shooting small rice size pellets of dry ice out of a jet nozzle with compressed air, against the substance to be removed. This causes the substance to shrink and lose adhesion from its sub surface.

Additionally, when this dry ice penetrates the substance to be removed, it comes in contact with the warmer sub surface, causing the ice to convert back into CO2 gas. Hence, only the detached material must be disposed off, as the dry ice sublimes into the atmosphere making this cleaning method safe, non-toxic & environment friendly.

Paint, oil, grease, asphalt, tar, decals, soot, dirt, ink, resins, and adhesives are some of the materials removed by this procedure.

This quick & efficient method, allows lengthy cleaning processes to be shortened by on-line precision cleaning hence, making it one of the most preferred cleaning methods for a variety of industrial cleaning applications.

Also, this method has improved industry cleaning standards with considerable increase in productivity, product quality, and safety.

Harmful Effects of Mold on your Health

Molds are tiny microscopic organisms that can grow on natural or built-in environment. Molds produce tiny microscopic cells known as "spores" which are very small and not visible to the naked eye. These tiny cells are capable of spreading through the air without you noticing. If these molds are not treated quickly and prevented from multiplying, they can cause severe health problems to your family.

Predicting the severity of the harmful health effects of mold is not easy. Molds don’t seem to be a problem to people who are healthy, but might be a problem for people with health problems like asthma or allergies. People suffering from health problems like asthma or allergies may face problems like itching, skin rashes, eye irritation, cough, running nose or aggravation of asthma. If you are suffering from an underlying lung disease, you may be exposed to getting an infection.

According to some researchers the effects can be more severe to continuous exposure to mold. Some of the severe effects can be fever, respiratory dysfunction (including coughing blood), Nose bleeds, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches and liver problems. The more people are exposed to Mold the more severe the problems can get.

The severity of exposure to molds does not end here. There are some molds called mycotoxins that release harmful toxins in defense against other molds. These toxins can have harmful effects on people, effects that can be toxic. The long term exposure to mold is not healthy to anyone, but the individuals most likely to face severe problems to exposure to mold are infants or children, elderly people or people suffering from allergies and asthma.

You can however prevent these mold problems by getting rid of them the moment you notice the growth of molds in your homes. It is better to get professional help when getting rid of molds as exposure to them can be harmful. Hence, it is important to arrange for professionals like Bio Cleanse Pty. Ltd. to conduct mold removal and mold remediation as soon as the presence of mold is identified.
