Tips to keep in mind during a sewage break out

Imagine waking up to the sight of waste water gushing out of your toilet bowl. Sewage breakouts are the worst way to start your day. We at Bio Cleanse Services understand your frustration and the problems associated with it.
Here are a few tips to help you understand what to do in the given situation:
  • Turn off all electrical power like electric wires, plug points or electric appliances at the place which is  flooded. It’s best to avoid contact with any wet material or water.
  • Turn off running water to avoid further damage to the drainage pipes or water heating pipes.
  • Open windows, curtains or doors to let out air so as to control odour. This also helps to reduce indoor humidity and sunlight helps to slow down the process of mould and bacterial growth.
  • Remove contaminated contents like carpets, curtains and furniture. Protect possible dry and uncontaminated areas from sewage contamination.
  • Immediately vacate sewage contaminated areas to avoid sewage contaminants. Only people with the right protection gear should be allowed in sewage contaminated areas, as the sewage waste can be flammable and toxic in nature.
  • Keep children and pets away from a sewage spill because sewage waste contaminants can lead to serious illness and infectious diseases. Tetanus, Hepatitis A and Leptospirosis are some of the diseases causing agents.

If you come across the above scenario, don’t panic. Just contact Bio Cleanse Services. We are always ready to help. Our team of trained professional will get the job done. Call at 042 741 1789 or visit our website http://www.bio-cleanse.com.au/services/sewage-clean-up/

Sewage clean-up is a job for experts

Sewage break-out is the most unpleasant disaster that any person will have to go through.

The three main causes for sewage breakouts are as follows:

· Blockage – it can happen due to the growth of trees in or around the drainage area, since trees and plant are prone to moisture and break through the pipes in the quest for it. Grease substances or sullage is another factor for blockage. They stick on the insides of pipes which makes it difficult to exit.

· Clogs – they occur because of various reasons such as hair falling or toiletries. Hair falling and toiletries (tissues, baby nappies, etc.) can build up and gradually lead to clogging drainage.

· Old or broken lines - Older homes or buildings might experience deterioration of their drains and lines. Failure to being careful of such things results in a sewage breakout.

Sewage break-out can have a bad effect on your health as well. Respiratory problems like asthma and water-borne diseases like malaria are some of the examples of health risks involved with sewage break-outs.

If you are facing any of these problems, we caution extreme urgency and our technicians are highly trained with adequate equipment. Contact Bio Cleanse Services at 042 741 1789 or visit our website: http://www.bio-cleanse.com.au/services/sewage-clean-up/

Don’t hurt animals

Most of us know that compulsive hoarding is a mental disorder.
But how many of us know, what animal hoarding is. When a person keeps an unusually larger number of animals and they are unable to provide them with the basic need and care, then this is called animal hoarding. These animal hoarders believe that they take care of all their pets while the total opposite happens.

An example of the above could be like this… Sam loves cats and starts hoarding them. He has about 30 cats living at his home, which is now contaminated with dried faeces, urine, and vomit. The fleas and vermin which are present, increase the toxicity in the place. He is unable to provide the cats with basic animal care needs like nutrition, sanitation, shelter and veterinary care, thus leading to the death of some of them. Sam is unable to see the cruelty that he is doing to those animals.
Likewise, most animal hoarders do not realize what they are suffering from and how it is affecting the life of animals. Though, why people hoard animals is not completely understood, several researchers say that it could be related to some personality disorder or mental illness like paranoia, delusional or depression.
Animal hoarding is a threat to human life. Human health problems can include zoonotic diseases, envenomation, self-neglect and much more.
Homes inhabited by animal hoarders could be dangerous and unhealthy. We at Bio Cleanse Services have been dealing not only with the effects of the disorder, but also with the people who suffer from it. How to safeguard your home from water leakage

A common scenario in most television ads is when you return home from office and find your house flooded with water due to some leakage of pipes, toilets, showers, sinks and so on.
water damage
Here are some tips on how you can prevent this from happening.
  • Examine your hoses and faucet regularly: Replacement of hoses every five to ten years is a must. Before leaving the house, inspect all items which are connected to the hose, look for leaks, if any - replace it immediately.
  • Water heater problems: An old water heater can cause problems if not replaced before end of life expectancy. To avoid damage from leaking water heaters, install a recovery plate under the new one.
  • Find the main water supply and close it: To stop overflowing water, the best way is to turn off the main supply. For an unexpected water burst at your home or office, this is the ideal way to prevent the problem as it will stop the flow of water.
  • Prevent freezing of pipes: When pipes freeze, the water inside it expands. Any such pipes or hoses must be disconnected and all the water should be drained and the pipes or hoses must be stored properly; else it will tend to freeze again. You can also install a freeze proof faucet.
  • Buy a water flow monitoring system: If you want to know how to use your water and where it all goes and If you want to detect any leaks, this is the best way to do it. A Water Flow Monitoring system helps you monitor you water system by alerting you, if there are any leaks or spikes in the irrigation system. It will inform in real time but this is totally dependent on the type of water flow monitoring system you use.

Murder Scene? Worry not!

Imagine yourself in the following situation.
You are in your kitchen, preparing tea, you realize that you have run out of sugar. You then decide to ask your neighbor for some. Getting out of your apartment with a bowl in your hand, you ring the doorbell. There is no response. You ring it once again. Still, there isn’t any response. A knock on the door swings it open. Calling out your neighbour’s name, you walk into the house.
You see things scattered across in the living room. The couch has been turned upside down. The flower vases have been broken. Some soap is running on the television at a very loud volume. There is a slipper in the passage that leads to the bedroom. You move towards the bedroom only to see your neighbour lying in the pool of blood. There is no one else in the house as your neighbour stays alone.
What would you do? It is very obvious that you will call the cops. The cops investigate the crime scene and take the body away for an autopsy. You inform your neighbour’s family about his/her death. They arrive immediately and grieve over their loss. Don’t you think you should help them in some other way? If your answer is yes, then how would you go about it?

The answer is simple. Help the family clean up the place and properly dispose of the deceased belongings, etc. At times, this can be a painful chore. Consult us at Bio Cleanse Pty. Ltd., for our trauma cleaning services. We understand your situation and are always willing to help you.

Water damage: Simple tips for repairs & restorations

In our everyday life, we might forget to look after certain household maintenance which could lead to problems. There are many scenarios that may cause water damage. The following could be the reasons:
  • Leaking or Overflowing sinks, bathtubs, toilets or pipes
  • Backed up sewage and septic tank lines
  • Heavy rain or storms

But no matter what be the reason, it is small steps that make a big change. Here are a few simple tips that you can implement at home:
  • Clean and maintain your gutter and drains
Make sure to get half-yearly checks on your household drainage system to avoid cracks or blockage of pipes by leaves and roots. Also have your roof annually checked for cracks or pooling of water.

  • Don’t pour grease down the drain
Pouring grease or any oily substance down the drain cause blockages and can cling to pipes. Even if you rinse your sink with hot water, it would not help much.

  • Install backflow valves and standpipes
By installing this mechanism, it automatically prevents sewage spills or water damage from entering your surroundings.

At Bio Cleanse Pty Ltd we clean, restore and remediate the damage. Our team of qualified & experienced professionals have all the skills, expertise, equipment and experience necessary to handle even the most challenging water damage restoration situations.

Common causes for fire damage

There are quite a number of causes for fires, and the effect of fire damage is endless too. When it comes to safety concerns, we should think about unseen possibilities that could happen. Let’s take a look at the chief causes of fire damage at homes and workplaces:

fire damage

At home:

  • Cooking equipment - When it comes to cooking equipment in the house; unattended stoves, unchecked electric cords, overheated pan or pots are to be seen to.

  • Heating equipment - Some of the reasons heating equipment can cause a fire are being careless with portable heating appliances, no mesh guard in front of a fireplace, uncleaned chimney and flue, etc. Children and wet clothes should be kept away from heaters or fires.

  • Smoking - Smoking in bed can be fatal - tiny embers can smoulder unnoticed and burst into flames later.

At workplace:

  • Flammable Material - This can be a dangerous hazard to your employee and your business. Inappropriate storage, incorrect disposal or improper processes handling these materials or substances can lead to fire damage.

  • Human error Spillages of flammable liquid, burning off or combustible liquid can be due to human error or accidental, which can be a cause for fire damage.

  • Faulty electrics - This is one of the biggest reasons for fire breakouts. Unqualified electricians could install inferior materials, unsafe switches, incorrect fuses, double adaptors and power boards which lead to power point overloads.
