How Does Dry Ice Blasting Work?

Dry ice blasting

Dry ice blasting is an improvement over sandblasting cleaning method. In this, dry ice is blasted on the surface at high speeds and pressure. Instead of using hard abrasive media to do the blasting (and damaging the surface in the process), dry ice blasting uses comparatively soft dry ice, accelerated at supersonic speeds. Upon contact, the ice creates mini-explosions on the surface which cause the dirt or the undesirable substance to lift off the underlying substrate. The frigid temperature of dry ice causes the undesirable substrate to shrink and lose adhesion. Since the surface to be cleaned is at a higher temperature than the dry ice, it immediately converts back to its gaseous form after hitting the surface and the only residue left is the undesirable substance to be disposed.

Dry ice blasting is highly superior to sandblasting cleaning method because, in the case of dry ice blasting, the surface does not get damaged at all. Whereas the same cannot be said about sandblasting. It avoids equipment damage in two ways. Firstly, dry ice does not erode or damage the surface to be cleaned in any way. Secondly, since dry ice blasting can be done on site, the machinery need not be transported to a separate cleaning facility which exposes it to potential damages like drops and bumps.

Here are some of the benefits of dry ice blasting:

  • It is a non-abrasive, non-flammable and non-conductive, efficient cleaning method.
  • It is environmentally stable and does not involve any harmful chemicals.
  • It has been approved to be used in the food industry.
  • It allows cleaning of most equipment without the need of time-consuming disassembly.
  • It does not have the chance of causing a fire hazard and can carry out the cleaning process with the existing electrical and mechanical structure of the machine.
  • It is used to remove production residue, release agents, contaminants, paints, oils, and biofilms.
  • It can serve both extremes. It can be used to blow the dust of books as well as to remove weld slag from tooling.
  • Apart from the above mentioned, it can be used in several other applications.

We at Bio Cleanse offer efficient cleaning services in dry ice blasting. Call us now on  0427 411 789 or email us at info@primerestorations.com.au to know more.

Bio-hazard cleaning – why and what?

Biohazardous cleaning
Pic Credits: https://goo.gl/1fo6LF

Mention the term bio-hazard, and we think of a risk to human health or the environment arising from biological work, especially with microorganisms. In simple words, if any living organism comes in contact with a biological hazard, it can pose a threat to its health.

We might know what a bio-hazard material is and what the causes are for it.

But do you know what is involved in a bio-hazard clean-up? If you do, Great! If not, then go ahead and read this blog.

When a bio-hazard clean-up takes place, the situation is completely assessed with caution and all items like carpet, furniture, wallpaper, etc. are removed and dealt with carefully. They get disposed of in biohazard bags at a federal and state regulated site for disposal. If you think wearing a safety gear is enough to take up the task for a bio-hazard cleaning then you’re wrong, because no family member, colleague or regular cleaner is trained to deal with biohazardous situations. A professional however will have bloodborne pathogen (BBP) training, own protective gear, would be receiving regular inoculation of Hepatitis B vaccine and exposure evaluation.

Therefore bio-hazard cleaning is no layman's task and requires well trained and equipped professionals. Bio Cleanse Services is a company dedicated to clean and remediate the affected area by following strict guidelines in the clean-up, removal, and disposal of biohazardous and bio-medical waste.

What makes bio hazard cleaning a good choice

In today’s world, most have an idea what a bio-hazard clean-up is and what is the procedure for a clean-up. But how many of us do follow the given instruction? How many of us play by the rules?

While most us know what bio-hazard clean-up is, most of us are still fully unaware of the danger and damage it may cause. Many times when dealing with bio-hazard cleaning, a lot of bio-hazard waste gets generated such as bio-solids, liquid waste, bodily fluids, etc. All of this has to be contained, transported and disposed of safely. If an ordinary person without protective gear had to do a bio-hazard clean-up, they might end up being exposed to various infectious pathogens and diseases like HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C.

It is always best advised to hire a reputed and certified cleaning company. These companies have the right tools and equipment to deal with bio-hazard situations like death, trauma, suicide or any violent crime. Bio Cleanse Pty Ltd. is such a company that is dedicated to clean and remediate your property to its pre-loss condition. They have the necessary permits, training, expertise and most important, the willingness to handle gross filthy things that would send most of us running out the door to throw up in the bushes.

Give a call at 0412 547 547 or check out our website: http://www.bio-cleanse.com.au/ to get a brief understanding.

The Horror of suicide clean-up

suicide

A person might commit suicide for various reasons, but that does not deter from the fact that suicide clean-up are the most difficult kind to undertake. No one should go through the traumatic event of having a suicide clean-up of their loved one.

Up to early 2000, it was the responsibility of the property owner or families to take up the cleaning task after evidence collection. When a person dies, their body rots and releases body fluids. These body fluids are dangerous and lead to health issues such as respiratory problems, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and even HIV.

Bio Cleanse is a company that works with the most advanced apparatus and techniques to keep everyone safe from potential infections or blood borne illness. Our team of professionals are trained and licensed to thoroughly clean the scene and leave it completely disinfected and free of future problems.

Mould Abatement

mould abatement

Mould is present everywhere - they exist indoors as well as outdoors. They are a boon for nature, as they aid in decomposing dead matter such as dead vegetation. They reproduce through tiny seeds called spores which are invisible to the naked eye and travel through the medium of air from one place to another.

Mould thrives under humid conditions. Moisture is helpful for mould to grow and multiply into colonies. If the contact between mould and moisture occurs indoors in a domestic area, then it results in mould problems for the household.

Mould produces a near-repulsive musty odour. Nevertheless, it is hard to detect the source of mould. Mould can sneak into the rear of wallpapers or panelling, the underside of carpets, inside ductwork and roof tiles – practically any nook and cranny which it can find. The reason for mould to flourish in domestic conditions is that the domestic indoor materials are capable of moisture retention, providing an excellent soil for mould to thrive.

Mould does not require a long time to spread. In as little as 48 hours, mould can spread through the property like wildfire, bringing damage and nuisance. Not only does it affect the walls, windows and furniture of one’s house, it also poses a serious health risk for the inmates. Mould exposure can cause conditions such as coughing, eye irritation, skin rashes, headache, sneezing, throat irritation, nasal congestion and respiratory problems. Besides these allergic and irritable conditions, mould can also produce mycotoxins, which can be potentially hazardous for health. For people suffering from asthma, the presence of mould cause asthma attacks.

The dilemma of mould abatement translates into moisture control.
  • Not only the mouldy surface needs to be cleared, but promptly fixing any water problem is also essential to prevent further outbreaks in the future.
  •  Make sure that the roof, gutters, pipes, AC drip pans and pipes are all functioning properly without any water leakage or retention.
  • It is important to let moisture produced from various sources (clothes dryers, stoves, heaters) go out of your house.
  • Use exhaust fans in places such as kitchen and bathroom.
  • It is wise to use air conditioners or dehumidifiers when needed.

Bio-Cleanse provides professional cleaning services of mould     and mildew, besides many other services. Visit www.bio-cleanse.com.au/mould-remediation/ for more information.

Leaky Pipes? Is consulting a plumber the ultimate solution?

Has your place ever been damaged with water? Perhaps water pipe leakage? Did you repair it all by yourself or did you consult a plumber? Have you ever consulted professionals to do the cleaning? If your answer is ‘No’, then you might have noticed mould growth over the walls. What possibly can be the reason for it? Yes, it is due to improper cleaning after water damage.

Bio Cleanse - Water Damage Restoration Services

Here is a list of few damages that could happen in case you do not consult professionals.

  • Leaky roofs damage ceilings to such an extent that the plaster could peel off and the paint could darken. The surrounding portion of walls could also be affected. Mould could grow over the surface making it shabby in appearance and dangerous to health.
  • Electrical gadgets like ceiling fans and the lights could also suffer damage. There might be a high risk of electrical shocks or fire in such cases.
  • Water leaks could also tamper with the flooring. Damage to the carpet will be caused for sure and so to the flooring. If your flooring is made of wood, then there are fair chances that it could rot.
  • Water leaking from corroded or cracked pipes are sometimes left unattended. A bucket or some other vessel is placed under it as a temporary solution to this problem. Have you ever thought that this bucket or vessel could turn out to be breeding grounds for mosquitoes and various other micro-organisms? You and your family could possibly be at high risk to many insect and other organism-borne diseases.

The costs to repair all these damages could turn out to be a considerably large amount. Instead, when you notice anything in its nascent stage, consult us at Bio Cleanse. We can help with all kinds of water damage.

Common Causes of Workplace Accidents

Common Causes of Workplace Accidents

Workplace accidents can have a negative impact on your business due to reduced productivity, loss in workforce and dampening of morale of other workers.

In the event of a workplace accident, the company has to pay compensation and recorded in the accident log for insurance purposes. It is every employer’s responsibility to take care of their employees, whereas it is also the prime responsibility of every employee to read the work safety regulation and work-related protocols.

Workplace accidents depend on a number of factors. Following are the common causes of workplace accidents.

Over-exertion
Over-exertion results due to excessive physical effort in the process of carrying, lifting, pulling and pushing goods. It also results due to excessive effort whilst operating a machine, when the worker falls short of his physical capacity. The most common injuries which results due to overexertion are sprains and strains.

Slips, Trips and Falls
The main causes of slips and trips are uneven floor surfaces, slippery floor coverings, wet floors, changes in floor levels, trailing cables and poor lighting. Falls happen when the worker is working at an elevation such as roofs, ladders and stairways. Slips, trips and falls are risky, as they can result in the worst kind of injury, such as head injuries, body injuries, fractures, paralysis or even death.

Falling Objects
Another common accident that happens at workplaces is free-falling objects, which result mostly in head injuries. Examples of falling objects that have a potential of injuring workers are roof scaffolding, tools, bricks, rocks, debris, ceiling panels, cluttered stacks on shelves, etc. The injury is severe, if the worker is not wearing head protection PPE, such as hard hats, etc.

Work Equipment and Machinery
Since the Industrial Revolution, machinery has become the norm at most work places. All of this machinery undergoes strict testing before it is given the badge of approval to use. Nevertheless, accidents still occur due to the fact that the machinery is not maintained, not properly guarded or not properly operated. Such accidents can even occur when there is inadequate training given to workers; he/she hasn’t read the safety regulations or has failed to wear the correct protective equipments.

On-Site Violent Acts
These injuries result due to arguments between workers or between workers and officials. In some cases, it can result in severe injuries or death of a worker.

Things you need to know about sewage problems!

If you're a homeowner, this is one of the worst nightmares you can experience. A sewage problem can be a nuisance, loss to property and as well as a huge health hazard. Torrential downpour deluge your property and neighborhood with rainwater, overwhelming your home’s sewer system or your sump pump’s ability to handle the water runoff.

Most people don't realize they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of a sewage system. Over a period of time, the sewer lines can easily deteriorate, crack, collapse or be obstructed. You might not have a clue that this kind of damage is occurring. One severe rainstorm may be all it takes to bring the problem to a head.

Here are some facts on sewage:
  • Sewage is the term used for wastewater that often contains faeces, urine and laundry waste.
  • There are billions of people on Earth, so treating sewage is a big priority.
  • Sewage disposal is a major problem in developing countries, as many people in these areas don't have access to sanitary conditions and clean water.
  • Untreated sewage water in such areas can contaminate the environment and cause diseases such as diarrhea.
  • Sewage is treated in water treatment plants and the waste is often disposed into the sea.
  • Sewage is mainly biodegradable and most of it is broken down in the environment.
  • In developed countries, sewage often causes problems when people flush chemical and pharmaceutical substances down the toilet. When people are ill, sewage often carries harmful viruses and bacteria into the environment, causing health problems.
We help you in sewage problems and cleaning. Call us before it’s too late. Contact our professional team at Bio Cleanse Pty. Ltd. on 042 741 1789 or visit our website on http://www.bio-cleanse.com.au/ for a free quote.
